Indications/Uses
Resp disorders characterized by excessive or viscous mucus (eg, cold, acute, chronic & asthmatic bronchitis, bronchiectasis & emphysema). Flemex: Adjunctive therapy in otitis, sinusitis, nasopharyngitis, tubal otorrhea & in reducing hypersecretion prior to surgery.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Flemex tab Adult 2 tab tid. May reduce to 1 tab tid once satisfactory response is obtained. Flemex syr Adult 1 tbsp tid. Childn 5-12 yr 1 tsp tid, 2-5 yr ¼-½ tsp (1.25 mL-2.5 mL) qid. Flemex Kids Childn 2-5 yr 1 tsp (5 mL) once daily or bid, <2 yr ½ tsp (2.5 mL) once daily or bid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ history of peptic ulcer. Flemex: Contains 5% alcohol (for Flemex syr only). Not recommended in concomitant use w/ antitussives. Pregnancy.
